Doctor Alonso Moreno
Mr. Alonso Moreno is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in the treatment of lower limb conditions, and Sports /Trauma injuries.
He graduated from the University Complutense of Madrid in 1991 with a First Class MBChB and awarded with the Erasmus Scholarship at University of Louvain, Hospital Saint Luc, Brussels. His basic training in bone and joint conditions started in Madrid University Hospital and was subsequently enhanced by training in Los Angeles County-USC General Hospital and The Avon Orthopaedic Centre.
Mr. Alonso Moreno’s clinical and research endeavours have centred around knee replacement, sports injuries and biological therapies for bone and joint diseases. He received his PhD from the University of Madrid after a research on stem cell therapy in 2016.
He has presented and published over a hundred scientific studies. He is a member of the Irish Orthopaedic Association, the Irish Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, the Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery, the European Orthopaedic Research Society, and the British Orthopaedic Association. Mr. Moreno is Principal Clinical Investigator of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine Group in Trinity College Dublin and Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland.
Mr. Alonso Moreno worked in Madrid in University Hospital La Paz, and in Connolly Hospital and Cappagh Hospital in Dublin. His current appointments are The Hermitage Medical Clinic and ES-Doctors.
